Pastor
|

|
Rev. John Armstrong was called by God to serve Grace Lutheran Church in 1997. He loves being a pastor and his favorite pastime is to learn, discuss and share the Word of God with others. Next to his faith in Christ, the greatest gift God has given him is his wife, Harriet. God has greatly blessed their marriage with two daughters, Anna Jonnette and Ivana Harriet.
Although raised Lutheran, Pastor Armstrong's spiritual journey has taken him from skepticism regarding the Christian faith, to Fundamentalism, to Calvinism, to finally rediscovering the biblical and Christ-centered nature of the Lutheran faith. He loves discussing Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible with anyone who has questions.
He holds degrees from Purdue University (B.S., 1976) and from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (Master of Divinity, 1986, and Master of Sacred Theology in New Testament Studies, 1990).

Tim began his service at Grace in August 2002. Previously he has served in congregations in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Brea, California. He graduated from the DCE program at Christ College (now Concordia University) Irvine, California in 1992. Knowing that parents will always have the greatest influence on their children, his goal is to empower families in their God-given role to nurture the Christian faith in the home.
Tim was born in Detroit, Michigan; raised in Detroit, and Hillman, (MI), New Port Richey (Florida) and Ann Arbor (MI). After attending University of Arizona in Music Education, he transferred to the Christ College DCE program (ask him why). Still having a love for music, He met his wife Lori (our Director of Youth and Children's Music) playing handbells together at Christ College. The two of them will still play for worship on occasion as well. They have two daughters attending White Creek Lutheran School. The family all love to camp. Tim also enjoys running, and assisting as a cantor in the worship at Grace.

Director of Youth & Children's Music

Lori Moses is our Director of Youth and Children's Music. She is responsible for the Children's Choir as well as the handchime and handbell programs here at Grace. She also provides music for the Children's Sunday school and Grace Club.
Lori is a graduate of Christ College (now Concordia University) Irvine in California with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. Her previous experience includes teaching in Lutheran Schools, directing a Lutheran childcare center and co-directing a Lutheran preschool.
Lori has been involved in music since she was 6 years old and has been playing handbells for over 26 years. She has played with the Concert Bells at Christ College and the Pike Peak Ringers in Colorado Springs. She began directing handbells in 1993 and especially enjoys working with children. Her background in education and love of music make this a very fulfilling occupation.
Lori has been blessed to work at the same church as her husband Tim several times throughout their marriage. When Lori isn't at the church you can find her sewing, gardening and of course being a mom to her two beautiful daughters. She also makes champion pickles.
